Chile did not haggle dictator Pinochet about the rights of their people, and also did not compromise or waste the rights of the people of Peru.
After the arrest of the former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori "1990-2000" in Chile, he was handed over to the government of Peru, to be tried for violations & brutalities that he committed against his own people and the political activists as well as the widespread corruption in the time of his rule.
The Supreme Court in Chile agreed Friday to extradite Fujimori at the request of the judges of Peru, on charges of corruption and violation of human rights.
It is a step forward that Fujimori did not go unpunished despite fleeing seven years ago and his resorting to Japan, which he holds its nationality also.
Fujimori is expected to be sentenced to 30 years in prison if convicted of six charges against him on committing human rights violations and theft of public funds during his tenure, which lasted ten years in the nineties.
Also, all efforts of his daughter who is a member of the Peruvian Congress, failed to get her father escape from justice.
Perhaps this is the best news of the World Human Rights Day, that one of torturers is being taken to the court, particularly that this torturer was one day... a president.
