Legal warning filed against the Minister of Justice
To declare the results of questioning Judge Murad Cairo 8th Aug 2007 The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (hrinfo) issued today a legal warning to the minister of justice in which it demands the declaration of results of questioning judge Murad, regarding the complaint the Arabic Network filed against him. Hrinfo filed last April a complaint to the council of higher judiciary and the minister of justice, calling for questioning judge Murad for committing plagiarism and violating the law of intellectual property. Mr.Murad filed a number of unjust lawsuits against hrinfo, a number of bloggers and lawyers as a response to their disclosing that act of plagiarism. Despite the commencement of questioning and examining Mr.Gamal Eid 's- Lawyer and hrinfo director- complaint against Mr.Murad yet the ministry of justice has refused for 4 months to declare the results of questioning Mr.Murad .the council of higher judiciary has also transferred hrinfo's complaint to the ministry of justice. Hrinfo issued a statement in which Mr.Eid said" we have the right to know the results of the questioning and the ministry of justice deny us this right, we believe that this denial is illegal and raises suspicion about the reasons lurching behind, given that we have read about Murad's connections with the minister of justice and other officials" " questioning any judge for any alleged violations has to be conducted in an openly transparent manner without any delay in declaring the results which will disclose the reasons behind this judge's filing a complaint to ban more than 50 websites on the Internet". Despite the fact that filing a legal warning usually takes a few minutes yet it took the hrinfo four days to manage to file this warning no 12100/2007. The minister of justice received a 10 days dead-line to reveal the results. Hrinfo confirms its relentless support to the efforts of lawyers and bloggers to disclose the truth behind this case which mounted from an infringement on intellectual property to a campaign for freedom of speech and expression against those who are persecuting these freedoms. |
