Fourth year 26 April 2007 - 2 May 2007 Jordan ======== Opinion and Expression Reporters without Boarders issues a statement condemning Jordanian authorities for confiscating a record of a program in Al-Jazeera Channel because it discussed with a guest an American report states a Saudi Arabian officer involved in funding Al-Suna militants who are fighting Hisb Allah. It issues the infamous laws to fulfill its plans. The Public Prosecution summons Abdel Hady El Khawaga Head of Bahrain Center for human Rights and Hassan Meshimaa Secretary - General of Haq Movement to attend before the Primary Criminal Court in 12 May 2007. Two of them was condemning prohibiting lawyers from visiting two prisoners, moreover the two organizations the Tunisian Alliance and the National Council for Freedoms stated the same issue in two different statements. While the other two statements by the International Institution demands the release of two political prisoners. Opinion and Expression The National Council for Freedoms states a release on condemning 12 defendants by the crime of terrorism and jailing them from 6 months to 4 years, despite the defense vision that the file has no evidence for condemnation. The NCF also consider the case a condemnation to freedom of expression and Thought and violates Article 19 of the international covenant for civil and political rights signed by the Tunisian government. Moreover, the International Campaign for Human Rights in Tunisia issued the same subject in a statement confirming the injustice of these prosecutions, which, the Tunisian Youth subjected to due to their conversation in issues of struggle. In addition, they also tortured badly, prevented from a public trial and their lawyers beaten violently. In some cases, citizens forced to change their family name two times during a week, others were obliged to choose from two names then they forced to take the third day decided by the committee. Moreover, register papers of all state computers changed in order not to approve citizens' origin reliable names. It is a wide dangerous process to falsify identities and violating personal rights. Moreover, NGO Network is anxious about the increase of security disorder and declares that lack of supervision over the use of weapons will lead to disasters in the Palestinian society. On the other hand, the National Organization for Democracy and Law with the cooperation of NGO Network against Security Disorder and Supporting Human Rights started fulfilling a public sit- in to join liability with officials of Rafah municipality before their working place. It states also that the crime is a grave threat to Lebanon's union and durability and blowup the sectarian crisis that will lead the country to a new civil war exhausts the Lebanon people. The statement also called upon the Lebanon authorities to do investigation to check out the truth and present the defendants in this crime to the prosecution. The evidence in the report is as follows the security apparatus in Egypt attacked some journalists during coverage to some opposition demonstrations, the disappearance of the journalist Reda Hilal since 2003, the issuance of the first imprisonment verdict against an internet writer and finally the abduction of the journalist Abdel Halim Qandil in the Year 2004. it added also 85 criminal cases suits brought against the press during the period between 2004 and 2006. Mahmoud who thinks that the only reason for arresting him is his published articles on torture crimes and human rights violations in Egypt and his refusal vision to these practices. Celebrating the press freedom day and in an attempt to represent Egypt in a better seat, the Journalists Syndicate will hold a seminar with the cooperation of the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights, Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies and the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information under the title "constitutional amendment's decline over freedom of opinion and expression". The seminar convenes at 12 am (3/5/2007) in the Journalists Syndicate. Arrest State Security investigation forces in Al-Monofia Governorate arrested this week two members in the People's Assembly (Ragab Abu Zeid and Wagdy Ammar) and 14 persons. The state authorities discarded the legal procedures done in arresting members of the parliament by removing the immunity or red-handed avail. The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information issues a statement describing the arrest of two parliament members an actual crime and calls for prosecuting the responsible officials. Another statement issued by Maat for Juridical and Constitutional Studies on the same incident. Belief The Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights is ashamed of the verdict issued by the Administrative Judiciary Court of preventing citizens from their right to return to their origin religion, which is Christianity due to changing it to Islam religion. The Initiative describes the verdict a drawback by the state Council that hold a constitutional protection to citizens as it violates right to freedom of belief and doctrine. Moreover, on this context the Moroccan Organization issues another statement criticizes the non fulfillment of the verdicts issued for the beneficiary of workers which is a violation to the legal and human rights' liabilities. This act also is an attempt to encourage the phenomenon of escaping from punishment which negatively affect the judiciary's credibility and settles discrimination and principles of inequality between citizens. Some people said she adopted Islam however, others deny it. First, one of the tribes' leaders from Al-Yazeedi community in Yasheeka takes the girl in his house but the relatives and others broke into the house and send her out then stoned her until she died. Three of them - despite their different names and titles - carry the same subject, which is freedom of opinion, and expression that suffers in Egypt now from intense deterioration. The first is on the verdict issued against Howaida Hafez, while the second states arresting two parliament members, the third is an invitation to boycott military courts and finally the fourth and last statement about finishing the second training session for journalists.
