The book talks about the heritage of democracy in Egypt since the French invasion in Egypt (1798-1801).the book also talks about the path democracy took during the reign of Mohammed Ali's family until it was ousted by the 1952 revolution.
During the French invasion, Egypt had the chance to explore the aspects of the modern world despite the perils of the colonization inflicted upon the Egyptian people.
During Mohammed Ali's reign, the country saw a renaissance in architecture, the judiciary, and other parts of the modern life which the Egyptians were not familiar with.

What is the book about?
This report is part of a series of social and economic rights which issued by the Land Centre and addresses the issue of child workers in the agriculture sector. The book offers a study case for a group of child workers in Ezbit Alhakeen in the governorate of Bani Swaif . The report consists of six chapters. The introductory chapter deals with the concept of child labor; in the first chapter, the report addresses the magnitude of and the reasons behind child labor worldwide. The second chapter addresses the peasants' conditions in the governorate of Bani Swaif and Ezbit Alhakeem.the fourth chapter addresses the conditions of child workers in Ezbit Alhkeem.the fifth chapter contains testimonies of child workers and a number of people. The sixth chapter contains recommendations and conclusions.

What is the book about?
When the UN issued a report during 2006 it indicated that 3% of the people's of the world dominate more than half the universal wealth. According to the report, wealth is centered in Northern America, Europe and Asian rich countries where wealthy people in these countries dominate 90% of the world's wealth.
While food shortage is a significant indication of poverty yet what's more serious is producing food with disregard to nutritional factor. The report attempts to provide an answer to several questions in order to create a society that guarantees for all of its citizens safety, nutritional food and good standard living. The report also addresses the issue of food safety especially in the midst of a spread of an unhealthy food.

The book contains the 3 wining researches in the second human rights researches contest for young researchers. The results were announced this spring.
The first study was titled" Political development, human rights and the social content" by Prof.Salih Al-Masaeed. The research addressed the procedural definitions of political development demonstrated by surveys on the role of political development in the social life.
The second study was "freedom of speech on a vocational level" by Islam Al-Radyda.the study discussed the definition of freedom of speech in the light of international treaties and in comparison with constitutions from various Arab countries. The study also discusses the definition of public clerk, the related duties and the right to express opinions.
The third research was "Jordanian women and their rights between law and practice" by Majd Abdallah who discussed the labor law in Jordan and its development, issues related to working women conditions.
